ouch...
my first call as a secretary at the WC...
this guy was so impatient, but he was asking me for something really obscure. when i couldn't find the information right away he started accusing and getting really rude.
i was like, "sorry sir, its my first day."
i had no clue what he was asking for and had to interrupt a session to ask Andrew about it.
when i finally got the guy the information he wanted (i hope) he was like "reach around and pat yourself on the back."
wtf?
really!?!
I didn't even get a tutoring session today. Total I am here for 4 hours tonight, so for the next two of them I am blocked out as desk person. the first two hours i basically spent watching the other desk people because no walk-ins came. :/
so now i should feel like an expert, but after that i feel like i have no clue what im doing.
HELLO?
I didn't spend a quarter trying to get this internship to work on the desk three-four hours a week.
tomorrow i am blocked out for a workshop with Sandy, so I miss my desk time, but still... some people aren't scheduled for any desk time. There is probably a good reason for that... scheduling conflicts or whatnot. So that's fine.
Ok, so here's the good news.
Tomorrow I open, and my first real appointment ever is for a girl in my Andean Roots class who I met at the Bally-Hoo show last year. And she is really friendly, PLUS I am in the class so I already know whats going on.
I'm kinda nervous because she is coming in for help with applying for a scholarship.
Then I canceled my half hour "block out" tomorrow, which was for reflection (I will just do that on my own time), so that I might have the opportunity to have more than one actual session this week. That'd be awesome.
